Najla Brannin was truly one of a kind. To her friends she was always willing to adventure, live in the moment, and have fun. To her teammates and coach she was a motivation, an example, someone to look up to. To her family she was Naj. She would play with her cousins with joy, fight with her sister with love, and make her parents feel like they did something right. She was all of those things till her very last moment.
She lived a short but loving 18 years. She spent a lot of her time by the pool deck, as she had a passion for artistic swimming. Seeing her move in the water was angelic. Outside of the pool she loved to be around her friends, family, and her cats. If she wasn't with them she could be found reading or watching a good old fashion romcom. Najla also dedicated a lot of time to her school work, so much so that she got accepted to the University of Florida Honor Program and had started in the Fall of 2022.
In 2021 Najla was diagnosed with stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma and after a long and powerful fight she passed away on November 17th, 2022.
Knowing Najla was a blessing that too few people got to experience. She may not be down on Earth with us all but she forever lives on in so many hearts. She is a person who is very easy to commemorate and with this foundation we plan to spread her story and continue to grow her legacy.
